The Marfione Custom MSG was another model in continuing Mick Strider / Strider Knives collaborations, this time it was a custom only variant. The MSG 2 aptly named as it was technically the second version of this form, the first version was the Select Fire Prototype / MSG 1. Once again the Marfione custom MSG features the classic SNG handle pattern and smaller overall length. This version was Double Action only unlike the MSG 1 Prototype that used the Select Fire style key to turn that function on and off. This remains one of the coolest most underrated knives in the Marfione Custom Pantheon.

Editors Note: You can see on this example the Tri-Grip handle milling mostly seen on productions of the time actually made it onto this custom.
Marfione Custom Strider MSG 2 Double Action Automatic Knife Apocalyptic Elmax Blade with Tri-Grip handle
Chassis screws: Med Triangle
Editors Note: The coil fired Double Action is a tricky mechanism to master and complicated to manufacture, Double Action knives in general tend to be unappreciated by the masses and adored by the few, its two knives in one and the auto function usually works better than the manual. At the time these were not appreciated however because of that they are now considered very rare and hard to obtain.
Marfione Custom Strider MSG 2 Double Action Automatic Knife Double Vapor Blast
Chassis screws: Med Triangle
Editors Note: The MSG 2 had debatably the best looking grind of all the Strider collaborations, the "Spike" grind is very pleasing here with no real flats and the top ricosso featuring that deep plunge.

The third variant in the lineup is the MSG 3, this would be the final knife in the Microtech / Marfione Strider Collaboration catalog. The MSG 3 was a Titanium handle integral (Meaning the handle is machined from a solid block of Titanium) this would allow the knife to be void of any handle hardware other than the pivot and stop pin fasteners, this model also saw the introduction of the infamous Todd Begg style pressed carbide ball pocket clip.
Integral knives are very hard to make correctly especially during that era, setting lock and detent on an integral is an entirely different beast and that unfortunately made some of these MSG 3's perfect or less than. Also because of the construction these were costly and not entirely appreciated until much later. This was also released later with an inlay and dubbed the MSG 3.5
